Happy Halloween

Bobo wishes everyone
a Happy Halloween!

Click HERE to hear Bobo sing a song from one of the greatest movies ever made, The Worst Witch!

Would you like to sing along with Bobo? No problem! Here are the lyrics:

[spoken] It’s great to be here, with you young witches, on this fabulous night! Remember Gills, show the world, let them know it’s Halloween. Hit it!

[singing]
I wouldn’t change places
With anyone tonight
We’ll carve pumpkin faces
And watch the witches flight
Every human heart will shudder
Every soul will shake with fear
Tonight, the creepiest
Tonight, the scariest
Tonight, the most wonderful night
ahhhhhhhhf the year

Anything can happen on Halloween
Your dog could turn into a cat
There may be a toad in your bass guitar
Or your sister could turn into a bat

Christmas time brings the snow
Summer time brings the sun
But on Halloween your blood begins to run
Something’s funky going down now

Anything can happen on Halloween
It’s better than a video
Gremlins gonna mess up every cassette
From London to Idaho

April first can be fun
New Year’s Eve is a bore
But on Halloween your flesh begins to crawl
Oh, I’m losing control

Anything can happen on Halloween
Your toenails grow long and your hair turns green
Your teacher could become a sardine
Your dentist could turn into a queen.

Has anybody seen my tambourine?
I may start playing
Begin the begin
The craziest night you’ve ever seen
This hairy, scary, creepy, crawly,
Halloween.

Vega

I feel like I need another day of freedom from work. There is so much for me to do and so little time to do it. The thought of Vegas leaves me slightly panicked. What should I pack? Do I have enough socks? Are my shoes comfortable enough?

This trip I am going to try to take time for myself. I don’t need to eat with a group. I can wander around the strip on my own. I am not going to wait for people or hunt people down. I will be my own person.

Full Day

I just got back home. It’s been a LONG day. Lisa and I went to the shore. The weather was fabulous. Bobo absolutely loved it. Japanese Chins are known for certain unique behaviors, one of which is the “Happy Circle.” When Bobo gets extremely excited or just plain happy, he spins around like a whirling dervish. It is quite a sight to see! Let me tell you, he spent most of the time at the shore just spinning around in circles. He was beside himself. In a crazy coincidence, we ran into our parents on the boardwalk. We spent some time together and then parted ways. Lisa and I went to The Windmill and split a chili hot dog. Then we went to Hoffman’s for ice cream. On the way home we stopped at the 6 Flags outlet in Jackson. I bought a new wallet. Instead of going directly home we decided to drop Bobo off at our parents’ house and go to the mall. I bought a pair of black pants and three tops. We went back home for dinner. Mom made baked ziti, meatballs, salad, and garlic bread. Dessert was apple pie and vanilla ice cream. I helped with the dishes and then Lisa and I came home. I am exhausted. Absolutely exhausted.

Shorest thing

Lisa and I are going to the Shore for a few hours. At least that is the plan right now.

I am so angry with my web hosting (Indian family) company. Everything seems to be broken. MT Blacklist isn’t working. My SpyCam software isn’t working. Somehow MT is working, THANK GOODNESS! I swear, it shouldn’t be this hard.

To Do Items
Pack for Vegas (1 business outfit, 3 pairs of black pants, a couple tops, sweater)
Pack Summer Clothes
Unpack Winter Clothes
Go through Winter Clothes and get rid of crap

Toasty

Just got back from a bonfire. Lisa and I picked up mom and took her to the Sleepy Hollow Bonfire where the Daisy Jug Band was performing. We brought along sticks from the tree in our backyard and a bag full of marshmallows. It was a very nice evening. It was really cold but the bonfires kept us toasty. The Daisy Jug Band sounded great. I especially enjoyed watching little kids dance in front of the stage. I wish I had been that free when I was their age. Instead, I was racked with fear and insecurities. To this day, I am not sure why.

I think I’m gonna be sick

Aprille cut our hair on Thursday evening. Lisa looks great and I love my new cut. Sitting in the chair, I couldn’t help but overhear the conversation between the woman right next to me and her hairdresser:
“…and I noticed this lump on the side of my head and I was absolutely worried that it was a tumor!”
“A tumor?”
“Call me a hypochondriac but I was really scared and so I made an appointment with a neurologist…”
“You were able to get an appointment with a neurologist?”
“Well, I am a nurse you know; so anyway I go to the neurologist and he takes one look at it and he tells me it’s a blind pimple!”
“So it’s not a tumor”
“No, and I said, ‘Well, what do I do with it’ and he tells me to put hot compresses on it.”
“Hot compresses work.”
“I’m sure they work but I can’t walk around with a lump on my head so I got my husband to stick a pin in it and squeeze it out”
“That works too”
“My husband, he’s always taking care of things like that on my back and I would do it for him too except he doesn’t like being pinched.”

Alfred

Last night I had itchy feet. I wanted to go out and have some fun. Lisa, however, had a full day at work and only wanted to stay home and sleep. I suppose I could have gone out on my own. Although walking around Newtown alone didn’t strike me as fun so instead I camped out in my bedroom. I flipped on Turner Classic Movies just in time to watch Alfred Hitchcock’s favorite movie, Shadow of a Doubt starring Joseph Cotton, Theresa Wright, Macdonald Carey, & Hume Cronyn. It was great. Joseph Cotton was so menacing. After Shadow of a Doubt, Strangers on a Train came on and I watched it too. Can’t say I enjoyed it as much as the earlier movie but that probably had more to do with me becoming tired. Robert Walker was great and I felt bad knowing that he died two months after the movie was released. He was only 32!

Nirvana

Donnaville was down yesterday. My Web Hosting company migrated me to a new Web server. They apparently took the snapshot early in the day so my later posts disappeared. In the email they sent alerting me of the move they mentioned there was no need to update the DNS settings. You see, they would be very happy to mess that up themselves. I opened a bunch of tech support tickets telling them that donnaville was down. They’re response was, “It is fine.” Desperate I opened up a chat with them.
“Donnaville is down.”
“No it isn’t”
“Yes it is!”
“No I can see it”
“You cannot!”
“There is no problem”
“When I ping, it times out”
“It is your network”
“It is not my network”
“Yes it is”
“I have called 3 people all on different ISPs and they can’t see it either, I think it is the DNS”
“Let me speak to my colleague”
“Colleague? Be honest you are asking your brother!”
“We are a professional Web Hosting company”
“You are an Indian Family who lives in Jersey!”
“We are a company!”
“No you are not”
“By the seven arms of Vishnu I swear we are not an Indian Family!”

Antony

Just found out I will be presenting next week. Read about it in an email. No one told me. I love when things like that happen. I bought a really pretty sweater at TJMaxx last week, I think it will be nice to wear at the meeting.

Brian, Ray’s son, visited the donnavilla this morning. Apparently the repairman last week soaked me. Brian got the heater working but it is loud. Very loud. Too loud. Which brings us back to replacing everything. Same scenario as before. The one nice thing is at least the house has heat and so I am not scrambling. Too bad it sounds as if I live next to an airport.

My mother introduced me to a singer/band that I am finding oddly enjoyable, Antony and the Johnsons. I don’t know what it is that attracts me to his voice. He’s just so odd. Maybe that’s what I like. How did my mother discover Antony and the Johnsons? She saw them perform on David Letterman. The next day, she asked me to look them up because she wasn’t sure if she really saw them or if it was an odd dream. And now I am hooked. Well, that is until I find another band to queue up in Rhapsody
