Masks

Last night I had this crazy dream I was on Gilligan’s island. The Professor, Ginger and I decided to try to escape the island by floating away in a wooden bucket. We lost The Professor at sea but Ginger and I were able to get ashore. We stole a car and went cruising down the highway. We couldn’t seem to figure out where we were and every time we stopped for directions people refused to help us.

About a week ago I broke out. It was horrible. Thank goodness I didn’t have any meetings. When I did go out, I just piled on the pancake makeup. At any rate, I had been trying to clear it with 10% benzoyl peroxide cream and it just wasn’t working. I went to CVS and bought Neutrogena Rapid Clear™ Acne Eliminating Gel. The box says it is proven to clear breakouts in 8 hours. Usually I don’t buy into those claims but I was in a weakened pock marked state. I applied it that evening and by the next morning my skin looked a little better. After a week of using it, my face is relatively clear. It WORKS!

Speaking of cosmetic stuff, does anyone know if L’Oreal discontinued their Idéal Balance Quick Stick Foundation? I can’t find it anywhere! Their Web site has it listed but none of the drugstores by me are carrying it anymore. Ugh!

Lisa and I recently got into a new show on TV. It’s called Related and it’s about 4 sisters. Last night, as we watched it, we were shocked to see that the relationship between the oldest sister and the second to youngest sister echoed our own relationship. The younger sister kept accusing the older sister of being perfect. The older sister, of course, was perfect and she really tried hard not to bitch-slap the younger one. The younger sister was just a pain in the ass and kept complaining and wouldn’t do anything and the older sister tried so hard not to bitch-slap her. I kept saying, “Lisa, this is you and me!” Lisa told me to shut up. And I really tried not to bitch-slap her. :-)…

I just don’t know what to do with myself

It is only 7:30 and already it is pitch black outside. My body is telling me it is time to go to sleep! Lisa and I had a very healthy dinner, Ritz crackers and beer. As we ate we finished up a couple crossword puzzles. I hate sports clues. Never do I know the answer.

Tomorrow, Ray’s HVAC is coming to the house to give me an estimate on a new heating unit or a new compressor or whatever it is he tells me is wrong. I just know it is going to be expensive. The thing is I can’t complain because heat is essential in Pennsylvania.

Yesterday and today I had a yen to watch La Femme Nikita episodes. Lisa had the TV claimed yesterday because some Law & Order show was on. Perhaps tonight I may sit down and watch an episode. John Beck loaned me a ton of artsy fartsy movies that I’ve been wanting to see. Umberto D, Throne of Blood, Ran, Through A Glass Darkly, Winter Light, The Lower Depths, Hour of the Wolf, Cries and Whispers, and Stardust Memories. I should pop one of those babies into the DVD player. I somehow always convince myself I never have the time yet I just end up staring at the computer for hours accomplishing nothing.

Tomorrow I have an appointment with Aprille to get my hair done. I even got an appointment for Lisa too. We both need to get our hair chopped off. It’s time. I don’t mean because it is long and straggly but rather psychologically it’s time to shed the old. It’s a girl thing, I think.

I’m really digging these Jerry Finegold songs I downloaded from RecordBrother. He is just the ginchiest! 😉 P.S. Did everyone see John‘s latest self portrait? The one where he is sitting on the toilet while his twin relaxes in the bathtub. Quick, check his WebCam before he updates the image!…

Pssssst!

Wanna listen to some really cool Mp3s? Visit this Web site. It’s called RecordBrother. Right now he has posts on Mexican and Japanese Garage Rock as well as some Bollywood music. Me likey!

Sin City

Next week this time I will be heading to Las Vegas. It’s a business trip, not a vacation. I am not looking forward to it especially since it doesn’t seem like I will be able to catch Trent Carlini’s Dream King show. Trent is the World’s Greatest Elvis Stylist! Unfortunately, it seems that he is no longer performing regularly in the city of sin. Darnit.
