Donnaville was down yesterday. My Web Hosting company migrated me to a new Web server. They apparently took the snapshot early in the day so my later posts disappeared. In the email they sent alerting me of the move they mentioned there was no need to update the DNS settings. You see, they would be very happy to mess that up themselves. I opened a bunch of tech support tickets telling them that donnaville was down. They’re response was, “It is fine.” Desperate I opened up a chat with them.
“Donnaville is down.”
“No it isn’t”
“Yes it is!”
“No I can see it”
“You cannot!”
“There is no problem”
“When I ping, it times out”
“It is your network”
“It is not my network”
“Yes it is”
“I have called 3 people all on different ISPs and they can’t see it either, I think it is the DNS”
“Let me speak to my colleague”
“Colleague? Be honest you are asking your brother!”
“We are a professional Web Hosting company”
“You are an Indian Family who lives in Jersey!”
“We are a company!”
“No you are not”
“By the seven arms of Vishnu I swear we are not an Indian Family!”
