Hi Robert! Thanks for your input! I decided to go with dress 3 because I figured most women would be wearing a “little black dress.” I got a few compliments so I guess I did okay.

That’s true: if everyone’s wearing the LBD, its impact is inevitably diluted.

I have no doubt that you looked absolutely smashing in your choice of garb.

I’m very glad things went well for you Donna. As for dress number 3, it was second choice only after much debate as to whether or not it should be my first choice. I thought it had a certain Paula Prentiss vibe to it which gives it major points in my book. The first dress is really nice too and you looked great in it. I thought it had a fun, breezy look to it but I didn’t think it was formal enough for your event but I could be wrong about that.

As a guy, I don’t naturally factor in what other guys might be wearing when picking out my own clothing for an evening out so it wasn’t even a consideration for me to do so for you with the other ladies. Gomen nasai.

I liked the striped number a lot but my mother said it wasn’t fancy enough. I never noticed the Paula Prentiss spirit in dress 3 before! That means it is suddenly my FAVORITE dress and I’ll wear it more often!!! 🙂

I am glad you gave me your opinion! Thank you!

Realize however that adopting a Paula Prentiss persona may result in you attracting a Richard Benjamin persona.
How does THAT happen??? I thought the purpose of going t0 reunions was to make classmates jealous. And the way to do that is to drive an expensive car and wear clothes that make your cohorts look old and dowdy. Somehow I was picturing you in a Romy and Michelle’s Reunion outfit. I will have to settle for my vivid imagination.

Wait just one second, B. Davis! 1. What’s wrong with Richard Benjamin? He was cool… Didn’t you see him in Westworld? 2. I thought the dress I picked was pretty sexy… yeah I was alone and I was driving a crappy car, but what the heck, it could have been much much worse.

Don’t get me wrong….I think Richard Benjamin is (or was)
a fine actor, and funny….but he’s sorta nerdy….I think Paula Prentiss could have done better, given her gargantuan sex appeal. And I’ll second (and third, and fourth) the motion that you probably look great in anything you wear. Right, guys? A female with a
slim and toned physique wins every time…dang, I’m so
    shallow 🙂

Richard Benjamin may be nerdy… and he was, but they are STILL MARRIED! They made it through the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, and 00’s. That’s pretty awesome.

Slim and toned physique does not win every time… Large breasts and curves win every time.

They married in the 50s? That long? Theirs is a great marriage. When I say “slim” I don’t mean “skinny” or “underdeveloped”. I mean weight proportionate….which was common in Paula Prentiss day.
She was toned and slender and natural looking (from my vantage point). So are the other heroines that you admire — Wonder Woman, Emma Peal, etc. That’s my female ideal…..not someone who looks like they’ve had plastic surgery.

    For your amusement….skinny vs. curvy:

    These are “plus size models”????
And they’re associated with someone named Donna?

    Sogno di Donna.
