Bristol Stomp

The pizza last night was so good. I am happy it’s Friday. Tomorrow I think Lisa and I are going back to Rosemont for Oktoberfest. It’s not actually Oktoberfest with beer and wursts but more of a flea market type of event. Then I am thinking maybe we will go to Bryn Mawr’s campus and see if they still have that Labyrinth. I think it was paved over years ago but I want to check. Later we will do the CBA Amphitheater.

I do have a major problem. I am a Bristol girl yet I don’t know how to do the Bristol Stomp! I assume stomping is involved but I am sure there is much more to it. Does anyone know how to Bristol Stomp?

The kids in Bristol are sharp as a pistol
When they do the Bristol Stomp
Really somethin when they join in jumpin
When they do the Bristol Stomp

Too bad the lyrics aren’t: The kids in Bristol are sharp as a pistol/ When they do the Hully Gully. I can do that one.

I think that the Stomp is a dance where you stomped your feet back, front, back, front, front. The Bristol stomp was kind of a fancier version where they moved their upper body too, looking a little bit like the Pony and Stomp combined? Could be mistaken. My mom used to know them all and dance them when we listened to her old 45s when I was little. 🙂
