Is that why you were so disappointed in the last two prequels?
I never thought of you as a STAR WARS fan. I would presume it to be too low-brow for you. Surprise, surprise.
I think we should all hold hands and form a circle around Skywalker Ranch and call it “Star Wars Fans-Across-America” (well … it SORT of sounds like Hands-Across-America). We can all hum the Emperor’s Royal March, hire an actor to put on a Wookie-suit and FINALLY give Chewbacca the medal he deserved at the end of A New Hope.
It’s true. I loved the original trilogy. As a young girl I wanted to be Princess Leia and marry Luke Skywalker, even after it was revealed they were brother and sister. The reason it didn’t freak me out too much was because I always thought Donny and Marie, while being siblings, were also married to each other.
The last two films were absolutely horrible in my opinion and believe me, I wanted to LOVE them. It is odd, when I was younger my favorites were Star Wars and Return of the Jedi. Having re-watched all of them, my favorite now is Empire Strikes Back. The reason, I think, is because that is the only film Lucas didn’t direct and is much more adult in nature.
So my fingers are crossed, and although I won’t be waiting in the ticket line in the weeks leading up to it’s opening, I will check it out regardless of the last two.
Why, Donna –

Two points if you can name Chewie’s home-planet.
May the force be with you … always.
