I am burning a peppermint candle and sipping on Oolong tea, trying to get myself ready to do some intense work I have been delaying for too long. I just read an article that said Arnold Schwarzenegger fathered a love child and that’s one of the reasons for his separation from his wife, Maria Shriver. A friend of mine split with her husband a year and a half ago (after 25 years of marriage) and I am continually amazed at the crap he continues to put her through. What is wrong with people? Why is it so hard to be nice to your wife? I keep trying to remind myself that it’s not just men. Women can be indecent too. Whether it’s the man or a woman, how can a person be so cruel? That is the question I keep asking myself.

You’ve got to be cruel to be kind in the right measure,
Cruel to be kind, that’s a very good sign.
Cruel to be kind means that I love you, baaaaaaby,
You’ve gotta be cruel to be kind.
Which is of course complete nonsense, but it has a catchy tune. (Have you seen Nick Lowe lately? Dang, that cat has aged badly).
The very rich (like Ah-nuld) and the very poor share common traits…..too much time on their hands, misplaced priorities, and a fouled up moral compass.
Hey, my grandfather had a love child with his wife’s
(my grandmother) best friend. And guess what…they
were all poor as a church mouse.
Dispair? U should learn 2 use spel chek.
Errr! My bad! Totally misspelled it! 🙂 But I fixed it!
And I was going to embed Cruel to be Kind but after listening to the lyrics I realized it simply made no sense and decided upon Half Boy Half Man instead.
Do you think Nick Lowe looks bad? I think he looks pretty good, like a distinguished older gentleman. I prefer cragginess than that pulled tight, looking like an old lesbian that so many men take on.
I was just startled when I saw a video of Nick Lowe singing “Cruel To Be Kind” in 1979 vs the Nick Lowe singing it in 2009. I know 30 years ages people, but
hotdamn he looks 50 years older. Of course Sean Connery must be about 80 and women still swoon. (Something to
do with being rich, powerful, and famous, I’m guessing).
“Old lesbian look”? Haha. Obviously you’re referring to Bruce Jenner.
Can’t go wrong with Nick Lowe, Dave Edmunds or Rockpile. As to the other, I know someone very close to me that wouldn’t exist had it not been for someone’s fouled up moral compass. Lot of stories there but none that I’ll air publicly.
I feel bad for all involved. More so for the wife and ALL the children.
Do women swoon over CURRENT Sean Connery or PAST Sean Connery? I haven’t seen him in ages it seems… I assume it’s because he looks like a wrinkled up raisin and they are keeping him behind the curtain.
And rich, powerful and famous certainly adds that certain je ne sais quoi that is so very appealing.
Here’s one of my favorite dead websites: http://menwholooklikeoldlesbians.blogspot.com/
Okay, this is embarrassing but I’ve never heard of Dave Edmunds or Rockpile— clearly I need to get googling.
And I am not in any way against the love child… I just can’t seem to understand how… it seems like men but I realize that’s not always the case… can somehow just cheat/hurt someone after living with someone and/or loving them for years and years.
I wasn’t suggesting that there are perfect people in the world. Everybody goofs ups, but some people learn from their mistakes, and some don’t. There are some perplexing moral compass problems within my own family, and while it would be entertaining to talk about those indiscretions (child molestation and lots of adultery, for instance), I’ll just stick to the subjects of Old Guys Who Look Like Lesbians and Sean Connery sightings (I saw Sean on TV about 5 years ago….Great Scot, he’s old!).
John Kennedy set the standard for cheating on his wife,
and Bill Clinton improved on it. Notice that neither of their wives left them. Notice that Tiger Woods’ wife hung in their for months even knowing that her hubby had screwed at least a dozen bimbos. Notice that Maria Shriver didn’t leave Arnold until he left office. Women like money and power, too, and that’s why they put up with so much crap and enable bad behavior.
“Hung in their”? Now I need a spel chekker.
Hi Donna,
I am not sure if I would call Ah-nold’s actions cruel per se. Just selfish. It seems to me that he’d have to specifically intend to hurt his wife for it to be “cruel”.
Personally I can’t wait for this to be out of the news. I always pity the kid whose parentage is turned into a national spectacle. Some may not mind, but many others harbor a deep shame about it, especially those who have been taught to keep their relationship with their own father a secret so as not to get the father in trouble with his wife. That’s a recipe for a lifetime of therapy as it is.
Just so you know, I wasn’t trying to cast aspersions on anyone here or their comments. This is just one of those stories that hits close to home and that was all I was trying to say. 🙂
Hi Robert– I wasn’t suggesting anything; I just wanted to be certain no one thought I was against the kid.
Kozaburo– But don’t you think Arnold *knew* it was wrong and that he *knew* Maria would be very hurt… and yet he boinked the nanny anyway! Yes, I know his intention was nookie . But he could have done the honorable thing knowing that outside relations would be detrimental to his marriage and just said no. To me it’s cruel whether he set out to hurt his wife outright OR hurt his wife by doing something that was against their vows. I do agree that it’s also selfish.
B.Davis– because this is Donnaville and I am the law of the land, I decree it Spellcheck FREE! Feel free to butcher the language, offer no excuses for typos — let chaos reign!
I always prefer UNCLE over KAOS. If you understand that
cultural (and I use that term loosely) reference, you are to be pitied.
I’m not buying this “Maria just found out about her husband’s infidelity recently” claptrap. Like Maria didn’t know that there was a 14 year boy around who wasn’t her spawn but looked suspiciously like Ah-nuld. She probably knew at least 5 years ago what was going on and kept her mouth shut until the Sperminator left office.
As I alluded to in a previous episode, my mother had a half-brother whom she never met. That’s because my mom’s dad carried on with a woman who wasn’t his wife
(see, it’s all been done before), and the product of that union (both is name and his location) was kept secret from my mother. There was no TMZ back then.
And by the way, if “the nanny” looked and acted like Fran Drescher it’s understandable why Arnold couldn’t control himself.
🙂
Looked and acted…definitely.
Now if she sounded like Fran and laughed like Fran…even Viagra can’t counteract that.
At the risk of beating this old horse to death….
Loretta Lynn, Hillary Clinton, and Anne Sinclair,
all “standing by their man”. You need search no further for the answer to the question “Why do men misbehave?”
Because women let them….they enable the misbehavior of rich and powerful misogynists.

Long live Lorena Bobbitt….no spell check for names. He done her wrong, she done him right!
Rosalie, does that mean that when a woman wrongs a man, the man is then entitled to remove some of her
body parts? That’s not justice, it’s vengeance.
