rosemont college theme song???

I just noticed I’ve had a bunch of people finding donnaville by searching for “rosemont college theme song.” THEME SONG? These can’t be Rosemonsters! No way! Rosemonsters know it’s not a theme song but an Alma Mater! Oddly enough, I’ve searched google and I can’t find it anywhere so here it is from memory. Rosemonsters who are reading this, please feel free to offer corrections since I am the girl who always thought Jimi Hendrix was excusing himself to kiss this guy.

Rosemont College’s Alma Mater
Down the halls of Rosemont through which her daughters go
Bring each to find the spirit we’ve come so well to know
The wonder of our college days will live though we’re not here
We praise our alma mater to her we’ll e’er belong

Alma Mater Alma Mater
Onward as we trod
Years of grace and true devotion with the help of God

And yes it is true, Rosemont will most likely be going co-ed. I am angrier than angry by this news. So angry that I have written about 10 different entries but haven’t published any of them. I can’t get past my anger to any coherence. Eventually I will publish my thoughts on this ugly turn of events. Probably just in time for the first sausage letting. !@#$%

From what I’ve seen, it’s being considered as an option. (The graduate school, I understand, is already coed.)

You seem pretty certain that the change is inevitable. (And you’re #2 in Google for “rosemont going coed,” for what it’s worth.) If you don’t mind my asking, how can you be so sure?

The graduate school is co-ed but that’s just a small slice of Rosemont. The real Rosemont is the undergraduate school. Those are the girls who live on campus and go to school full time.

The reason I am so sure it’s going co-ed is because I attended the last Strategic Planning Open Campus Meeting. Going co-ed is not just one of a couple options — this is the only option. No matter what they say, I was there and heard it– either they go co-ed or die. If you ask me— that is one and the same.

This is the lyric queen with TWO verses here ALL from MEMORY. I do have them in my scrapbook, but that in inaccessable to me at the moment, so I’ll check them later:

    THe silent paths of Rosemont
    Down which her daughters go
Lead each to find the spirit
We’ve come so well to know
The memories of our college days
Will live though we are gone
    We’ll praise our alma mater
    To her we’ll e-er belong

When all our days at Rosemont
    Are memories of the past
    We’ll love her old traditions
The ones that held us fast
The memories of our college days
Will live though we are gone
    We’ll praise her alma mater
    To here we’ll e’er belong.

And by the way, Donna, I can still sing that entire verse you had me memorize from “An Die Freude,” though I won’t write it out here because I’d totally butcher the spelling.

Hi, I am currently in Rosemont now. (And a German minor by the way) It’s funny because we actually just read An Die Freude. Thanks for putting the Alma Mater up. I needed it for a T-shirt and couldn’t find it anywhere.

    Hi,
I have been looking for the alma mater lyrics everywhere. Thanks for posting.

Ps. Alexandra- do you need a fall internship? I work for a German company in the Philadelphia area, and we are looking for an intern.
