Dork

Driving home yesterday I tuned in to the XM station, Oprah and Friends. A woman was on, I think her name is Maryanne Richardson, not sure and I am too tired to check. A caller asked her how to find a spiritual teacher to help her feel more connected to God. Maryanne said that she didn’t need a teacher, she needed to reexamine her life and determine where she wasn’t living up to her full potential. Who hasn’t she forgiven? Who doesn’t she love completely? In what activities is she not doing her best? Once she can improve in these areas, she will find that she is no longer spiritually adrift and she will become closer to God.

I’ve been thinking, how can I apply this advice to my life? It’s been YEARS and I am still angry at Peter Tork over that silly incident at the Tin Angel. I still haven’t forgiven NBC for canceling Misfits of Science back in 1985. It is time to forgive.

Oh my gosh, I loved Misftis of Science!

Don’t worry about not forgiving Peter Tork. My sister and her friend saw him and Micky Dolenz at a bar in Miami. Peter kept trying to get my sister’s friend to sit on his lap all night. They said they were both dirty old men!

I still haven’t forgiven my 7th grade classmate, Suzanne, for taking all of the girls in our class but me and one other girl in a limo to the New Kids concert. That was 20 years ago and I still think she is a jerk.

Maybe it is time for me to forgive too. Or maybe not!

i dunno, i was there the same night you were to see peter back in 2004 (in your photo with him, you can see my pal’s shoulder on the other side of pete ;p) and i found him to be totally charming and funny, and certainly not a dirty old man – just flirtatious and cheeky..

i read about your incident, and i have to say i just think peter was joking around with what he said to you. we hung out with him for quite a while after the gig and he has that sort of humor, he took quite a few digs at me for my love for mike and our accents – both of which could’ve been offensive if i’d taken them the wrong way..

we met micky the same year, and he was also totally wonderful.. he invited us to lunch with him (which we regretfully couldn’t attend) and when we returned to australia we found he’d sent us autographed photos and a thankyou note for coming to meet him..

i can’t imagine how people could have a bad experience with these two hilarious, funloving men..
