Somewhat yummy
I am drinking hot cocoa. It’s not really cocoa. It’s Swiss Miss No Sugar Added Hot Chocolate, a heaping spoonful of Nesquik No Sugar Added (rich in essential vitamins and minerals, and it’s specially fortified with 33% more calcium than milk alone) and a splash of Silk® Soymilk (loaded with healthy soy protein, antioxidants, 11 essential vitamins and minerals) and two soft, sweet, and extra-fluffy, JET-PUFFED® marshmallows.
It doesn’t really taste like hot cocoa at all.
I had such a bitch of a morning that it colored my entire day. I left my house right at 7:00, determined to catch the early train. I’ve been trying to catch this train for weeks yet somehow I miss it. It’s become almost comical. Even when I am right on time or a few minutes early, I watch it pull away without me. This morning was going to be different! I didn’t waste a single motion! Looking at the clock I was giddy! I am going to be early! That is until I practically plowed into the sign that read: road closed. The detour was a joke. It wrapped me all over creation and eventually I passed a completely different train station! This train station is as good as any, I figured. I parked and as I approached the platform, the train pulled up. This is the train I normally catch, just at the earlier station. I waved at the conductor and stepped onto the platform. I raised my arms to pull myself onto the train when I noticed the train moving away from me. WTF!?!?! The train departed without me AS I ATTEMPTED TO CLIMB IN! How is this possible? The conductor saw me! I was right behind another person who got in. Why didn’t he wait for me!? I stumbled backwards. All I wanted to do was sit down and cry. Rummaging through my bag I found the train schedule and noted that another train was due in just a few minutes. I wondered if it might pass by without stopping. My luck returned because the train was on time and it waited for me to climb aboard. I got into work 45 minutes late.
My day wasn’t a bad day. A sale I’ve been trying to close finally came through. Regardless, I just wanted to be 100 miles away. I didn’t want to think about anything. Eventually the day ended and I caught the train home. I had to call Lisa and have her direct me through the maze of unfamiliar roads. She got me to an area that I knew and could direct myself home. It took forever but I did finally arrive back at the Donna villa. I hope tomorrow is better.
Actually, I go to the NYC office tomorrow. It will be a nice change of pace, I suppose. My boss hired a new sales rep and he mentioned that he would like me to sit with the new guy and go over all the things that I have learned. This is going to sound evil but I HAVE NO DESIRE TO TELL SOME NEWBIE WHAT IT TOOK ME MONTHS TO LEARN! No one made it easy for me. No one helped me. Why should I make it easy for this guy? UGH! I even feel evil.
Back back back forth
I got home right around lunchtime. I immediately started to clean the house. It looks pretty good now. Doesn’t take long to sweep, vaccuum and wipe the counters clean. Now I am trying to get my clothes under control. My summer clothes are going into the attic and my winter clothes are coming down from the attic. I also really need to get my office area cleaned up.
Rob should arrive here around 4 and then we are going to meet my parents and Barbara P for an Oktoberfest dinner at a local restaurant. I am so excited for an Oktoberfest meal that I actually dreamt about it last night!

Lastly, can everyone who reads this blog send positive thoughts and prayers to my dear friend Erin? Her very sweet dog Luna was just recently diagnosed with cancer. Luna was operated on and she is doing well– but maybe she’ll do even better with some thoughts and prayers. Thanks!
Sandy toes
We arrived at the farm late and instead of going to see Big Sandy, I just queued him and his Fly-Rite Boys on Rhapsody. Rob fell asleep on his new futon that he recently bought at Walmart and I surfed the Internet and ate a Klondike bar. Yeah, the excitement of the evening still sends shivers down my spine.
I just finished vacuuming the farmhouse. Crazy, huh? Rob is outside cleaning out the gutters. Luckily we have other plans for the day as well. There’s a craft festival going on at a neighboring farm and Rob mentioned something about going to see Monta, his Taiwanese hairdresser.
Yesterday morning we found a huge log of crap on the driveway. We couldn’t figure out what animal could have produced something so huge. Deers don’t make poopies like that! It certainly wasn’t from one of the cows. Rob and I agreed it was probably a stray dog’s doing. Last night I had dreams that we were out looking for the dog that made the crap on the driveway and instead of finding a dog we found a cheetah. Rob was dressed just like the Crocodile Hunter and he had a huge butterfly net. Rob ran after the cheetah and caught him in his net. The cheetah squirmed in Rob’s arms and he told me to fetch a blanket to wrap around the cheetah. I ran into the farmhouse and down to the basement where I found the Pontani Sisters doing a dance routine. More occurred but I can’t quite remember.
No Big Sandy for Donna
It’s too late. I’ve missed it. Dammit.
Breakfast bar
Robert shaved his beard last night. I am sad to see it go. He’s been talking about shaving it for some time now. Last night I said to him, “Go into the bathroom and just shave it off!” And he did. Now his face is as smooth as a baby’s bottom. My ZZ-Top fantasies are shattered.
All I had for breakfast was a granola bar. Now I am ferociously hungry. An hour until lunch. I can survive.
Counting Sheep
Plagued by insomnia! Why?!?! Why!?!? I couldn’t take it any longer and got up and went through my mail, paid some bills and now I am wondering where in the world I might have placed my digital camera. The good news is I finally found the charger to my MobiBlu. The last I remember is uploading the pictures from Baltimore. Could that be the last time I used it? Where did the darn thing go? I sorta recall putting it in my purse for something. I just can’t really remember exactly when, where or why. UGh!
Rob has told me I really shouldn’t post where I am going to be. He said I am just asking for some crazy weirdo to come find me. I told him that I’ve been doing this for 10 years and have never had any issues. He said it doesn’t matter. I guess he’s right. He’s right about so many things. Just the other day he took me aside and told me that I had to stop storing my plugged in hair dryer in the wet sink. That’s something I really should have known not to do but I’ve been doing it for years without any issues. Now I hang my hair dryer on a little hook on the bathroom wall and I will stop broadcasting my whereabouts on the Web.
I can’t stop myself!
It’s Serge singing in ENGLISH!
Can you do the Peppermint Twist?
Put me in a straightjacket!
I wanna see Big Sandy and his Flyrite Boys and Los Straitjackets with the World Famous Pontani Sisters! Lucky for me they are both performing in Philadelphia this month!
Here’s a two for one!
