TO DA!

My day off was not a day of rest. It would have been nice to drive to the shore and take a walk on the boardwalk– the weather was beautiful, but I had so many things that needed to be accomplished.

3 loads of laundry- underwear, towels, sheets
Shopping- I really needed some nice trousers and a couple fresh skirts
Cleaned out my closet- I removed quite a bit of junk and I stored some of my summer clothes. There’s more to be done here but at least now I can actually walk into the closet.
Packaged the Mike Nesmith hat for Michael- I need to get postage and mail the darn thing which will probably take another week, but at least its in an addressed envelope.
Placed Hollywood Knights into the Netflix envelope– still must walk it to the box. What in the world did I do with Thunderbolt and Lightfoot? UGH!

I still need to renew my driver’s license. Today at lunch I will find a center and get my picture taken. I also need to do some banking. I will get these leftover items finished today!

Hmmmmmmmmmm, Sherlock

It seems that there is a limit to the amount of text I can post via
email. I wonder how much is too much and how much is just right? This
morning I configured the post by email function so if I want to post
something at work (during lunch or on a break) I can do it without
bringing up donnaville.com on my work computer. I don’t think there
would be an issue with it but I would rather not find out either way.
The last few weeks I have been really quiet and the reason is I am at
the Philly office and I simply prefer not to post at work. When I
finally make my way home, the last thing in the world I want to do is
sit in front of my computer. Besides, anything that I thought was
mindless enough to post during the day, has been lost in the great void
of my mind by evening. So perhaps I will get back into posting at least
once a day again– if not, oh well. It’s not like I ever had anything
to say anyway.

How Convenient

Today I am off off off! It is so nice! I went shopping at Anne Taylor’s and bought 2 beautiful skirts and 3 beautiful pants! I have finally come to the realization that I have outgrown The Gap and am now wholly situated in the Anne Taylor demographic. I told this to Lisa and she said, “Maybe you should shop at Chico’s!”
“Damn you, Lisa! I am 32 not 52!”

On Saturday, Audra and Steve, Rob and I went to the Kelsey Theater located on the Mercer Community College campus and saw a performance of Arsenic and Old Lace performed by the Yardley Players. Both Audra and I LOVE Arsenic and Old Lace and we were excited to have Rob and Steve see the play. Unfortunately, it wasn’t a great production. The acting was very uneven. There were quite a few scenes where the actors seemed to have a very tenuous hold on the script. I am going to have to put Arsenic and Old Lace up on my Netflix queue and show Rob how great it can be! Cary Grant! Priscilla Lane! Raymond Massey! Peter Lorre!

Yesterday, Mom, Lisa and I went upstate to visit relatives. It was a beautiful day! Not a single cloud in the sky and the foliage was a beautiful hue! Up in the sky I saw a skydiver and a hot air balloon! Visiting with my Aunt Theresa, she brought out her old albums and showed me the most incredible pictures of my grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. She loaned me the album so I can scan the pictures! It’s going to be a lot of work but I think it will be worth it.

Wowsa

This is the third night where I awoke at 12:30 absolutely fearful I had overslept. What is going on? I go back to sleep only to awake at 5:00 with the same fear. My alarm goes off at 6 and I can barely motivate myself to get up. I lay in bed for a good 10 – 15 minutes, now I am flirting with the fear that plagued me through the night. I don’t get it.

Last night I visited Aprille at Salon 39 and she gave me the sweetest haircut. It is quite different from how I’ve been wearing my hair. She cut it like a bob rather than a long shag. I really like it! I just hope that when I wash it, I will be able to style it correctly.

I still haven’t gotten my driver’s license renewed. It is now a month past its expiration. Today. I will do it today! You are all my witnesses. I have no excuses.

I can’t find the charger for my MobiBlu. I must do my laundry. I only have 2 pairs of underwear left and one of them has the print of tiny little teddy bears on them and I have a suspicion they are underwear that I have owned for over 20 years.

The last few days I have tried to catch the 7:26 train. Consistently, I miss it. Yesterday I pulled into the parking lot at 7:24, overjoyed that I had just enough time to plunk quarters into the parking meter and catch the train on the platform. Just as that thought crossed my mind, I saw the train departing. The first time in all of history Septa was early. Today I will catch the 7:26! I am going to leave the donnavilla at 7:00– regardless that the drive to the train station is only 12 minutes. I will catch this train so I can get into the office 20 minutes early.

Now I must make coffee.

Chewbacca

Friday night, Rob and I went to see the movie, The Science of Sleep. I LOVED IT! For some reason, all the reviews I read gave it 2 stars, but I thought it was great. I think I just like anything that is surreal.

On Saturday we took the train to New York. We walked around Chinatown, Little Italy, Soho, and Greenwich Village. Uniqlo finally opened its flagship store, I think it’s in Soho, and I bought myself two long sleeved T-shirts that I am loving and wishing that I bought one in every color. I found two beautiful wool sweaters for Rob on the clearance rack. They were 9.99 each! He tried them on and they looked terrific. I really hope they open a store closer to me!

Checking out the Web site, I realize we didn’t go to the Flagship store– we went to the little one on Broome Street. I guess we’ll just have to go back next week!

Rosemont had its Oktoberfest yesterday and I dragged Rob to it. There were very few alums there. It was one of the smaller Oktoberfests I’ve ever seen at Rosemont. They held it in Cardinal Hall, the cafeteria, rather than out on the green. There weren’t many outside vendors other than a couple people selling jewelry. Regardless, it was a nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Rob got to see where I went to school. And I got to reminisce over days of yore.

Gotta finish getting ready. The train waits for nobody!
