Not nerp

What is it called when a car only has one headlight shining?

I call it a piddidle.

When Lisa and I were little, we would keep an eye out for a piddidle and when we saw one, we would just scream, “Piddidle!” Whoever screamed it first could gloat until the next Piddidle would drive by.

Someone recently told me that the word they used wasn’t Piddidle but Spadoodle.

Did you play this game and if so, what word did you use?

100% sure it is pididdle. I also played “slugbug” on long car trips with my sister. The first one to spot a VW bug punched the other in the arm. Laid the smackdown on my sister all the way to Cape Cod one week when I was 5.

    Ahh, the memories!

    definitely pididdle.

taught to me by an aunt who OWNED a slugbug. so it wasn’t even fair.

For us it was “popeye pididdle” and we always played it with the same vehemence as slugbug. 🙂

I had only ever heard padiddle myself, but my inquiries have unturned this can also be called spadiddle, spadoodle, and fadoodle. Interesting. I’ll have to check further as to whether these are regional.
