BBQ fun

The BBQ was a great success! It was so nice seeing everyone. Audra and Steve came a little early and we surprised Lisa with a mini-birthday party! Lisa didn’t know they were coming early and they sneaked out to the patio where I had placed the bicycle that I bought her. I called for her and as soon as she emerged we screamed, “Happy Birthday!” Instead of a cake, I had 3 Tastykake cupcakes on a plate. Sadly, the wind didn’t allow the candles to stay lit. Lisa saw the bike and immediately took it for a spin. I think she was happy. The day of her actual birthday didn’t allow any celebration since George had just died. I wanted to somehow make it up to her.

It was closer to 6 when our guests started arriving. Greg arrived first followed by Erin and Pete and Peter and Lauren. I grilled hot dogs and served potato salad. Dessert was a banana cake that Audra baked and popsicles that I bought. We had a great time!

Experience the BBQ via the magical lens of Erin!

You call that a BBQ! A couple of dogs on a gas grill and a few beers is not BBQ, it is a processed meat COOK out.

Come on over on the 24th for a real BBQ I’m throwin:

3 types of sauced Carolina pulled pork from an 8 pound pork shoulder, smoked for 13 hours over hickory wood in my righteous homemade smoker. Plenty of smoked and grilled pork ribs with representative sauces from St louis, Kansas City and a Memphis-style dry rub. Homemade coleslaw, grilled cornbread, and more beer than a spring-break party in Florida!

Now that’s what I’m talkin ’bout.
