The Newtown Theater is projecting Rocky Horror this Saturday at 11:50. Yes, I am going. Each time I see RHPS, I come back and blog snarky things about the weirdo audience. Why do I keep going back? The answer is simple: I am addicted to the cringe factor.

Be sure to bring your umbrella……
Whoa…serious flashback…1985 and 1986…wow…
I know the feeling of flashbck…. Although it was a few years later 1988ish…

it is always fun to have a great excuse to wear a French Maid costume in public……
I think it is an excuse for closet exhibitionists to dress up in fishnets and boas. But please, do not get the idea that I dress up for the film… I am strictly a voyeur.
Donna,
did I give the impression that I am a closet exhibisionist….
once again…I am 35, with 2 toddlers….
I thought perhaps, you would look better in the costume than I.
🙂 I didn’t want anyone thinking I was going in a french maid costume!
I thought you were going as Janet!!!
Are you kidding? Donna goes as FRANK!
Wow, was I way off base then!!!!
I noticed on the Newton Theatre website that the
midnight movie is “Rocky Horror Picture Show”.
It’s a movie made in 1975 and starred a FREAKY
character…a (gasp) transvestite!
But the regular show at the Newton? Brokeback
Mountain, about two men who have sex with each
other. (Oh, how humdrum, and how completely
UN-FREAKY).
My how times have changed.
Donna,
Maybe go as a gay cowboy….
So I shouldn’t get dressed up then? 😉
In 10 years, there will be midnight showings of “Brokeback Mountain”. There will be “audience
participation”, of course, where ticket buyers
re-enact scenes from this “critically acclaimed
love story”.
And then, the advice of mike f will still be appropriate:
“BRING YOUR UMBRELLA”
