Last night, Lisa and I braved torrential downpour to meet Audra at the Houlihan’s in Plymouth Meeting. Driving there was no small feat. Large parts of the turnpike were flooded. It didn’t matter. We were women with a mission! MUST DELIVER THE METAL DDR PAD! Somehow we got there in one piece. It was a lovely evening. Audra showed off her engagement ring. Yes, it’s true! Audra is getting married to her Bo Duke, Steve. We are very happy about this. Sitting at the booth, I faced Lisa and Audra. Behind them was a table where a young Asian man sat. I guess I really shouldn’t have to say Asian, but I think it will help you visualize him better. At any rate, he sat there by himself but he was obviously waiting for someone. He kept pulling out his cell phone from his pocket to check to see if a call came in. He glanced at his watch every other minute. Finally he ordered a Guinness. I kept Audra and Lisa apprised of the situation. As each minute passed my heart sank lower. “Guys, I think he was stood up!”
At 8:15 I saw him turn to the door and a smile spread across his face. “She’s here!” I cried, alerting Audra and Lisa. I expected a beautiful woman with long black hair. Instead, Angela Lansbury walked in. They embraced. The three of us were beside ourselves. “Oh my gosh, this is a scene from Harold and Maude!” said Audra. I couldn’t believe it. They sat down and he stroked her arm and they made flirty eyes at one another. I could no longer comment on their behavior and I think Audra and Lisa no longer wanted hear about it. We quickly finished up our dinner and headed out to the parking lot to load the Blue Spark TX-1000 into Audra’s car. I had told Audra ahead of time that I expected her to say, “I love it! It’s exactly what I wanted! Thank you!” In the hubbub of moving it and the rain pouring down, we only exchanged, “Take care, Be safe!” Right before Audra drove off, she turned and I could see she mouthed the words, “I love it! It’s exactly what I wanted! Thank you!” Yes, it took forever to get here and yes I shall never trust vendors from Froogle, but it was worth it.

How DARE you call him Asian! ; )
I love “Harold and Maude” thats my favorite movie!! (well one of them!).
I also love “Harold and Maude”. Such a quirky movie. Harold’s interaction with his mother is just priceless. I love the scene where the girl that Harold’s mom has invited over to meet him walks by the window, sees Harold apparently setting himself ablaze out in the yard and runs out of the house screaming.
Perhaps the Asian guy was a pro?
I never thought that he might be a stud for hire! That is entirely possible!
I’m not sure what your implication around the Asian guy is. Some men prefer the company of older, sophisticated women.
I can tell you, anecdotally, that when I was a 21 year-old college junior, I dated one of my professors, who was 54 at the time.
She was childless, divorced, and had a PhD in British History. She looked about 45, and drove a pretty cool Nissan 300-ZX. We often enjoyed the symphony, opera, and other cultural events.
I loved her dearly; she most definitely provided me with a proper initiation to the finer things in life, and the countless joys of dating older women.
Older women tend to know what they like, and aren’t perpetually indecisive. Their physical passion may not be at the same level as younger women, but the emotional intensity and bonds formed are purer, and sweeter.
To all the male readers of the Donnaville, you haven’t truly lived until you’ve dated a woman in her late-40s or older. If nothing else, the experience will provide you with a good life barometer. The firery intensity of an older woman’s kisses, alone, is worth the experience.
There are as many flavors of ice cream as there are tastes. Though vanilla is the most popular, don’t discount the other flavors, in aggregate.
Wishing you all the best.
