Something is wrong with my laptop. It spontaneously shuts down. There is no rhyme or reason to it, no warning. Phifft! Black screen. Toshiba told me I need to take it to a dealer and get it fixed. Lurvely.
I really could have gone for some Indian food tonight. My body is craving curry.

One issue we’ve had with Toshiba notebooks at work (for some reason this has never affected _my_ Toshiba notebook) is overheating: the fan runs at the wrong time, or not enough, or something, and eventually the machine shuts itself off to protect its delicate innards.
We’ve had various EPROMs reflashed, which made the problem less frequent.
Sorry to read your laptop has gone wonky. Good thing you called Toshiba, you’d have never been able to think of taking it in to be fixed by yourself. 🙂
My advice is to gorge yourself on some nice lamb vindaloo, a few samosas, and a mango lassi.
