I work hard for my money

I spent most of last night at the Philadelphia International Airport. My plane was cancelled. I was then booked onto another flight. Sometime after midnight I arrived in Chicago. Once in my hotel room, I found a schedule on the floor. I immediately noticed my name on it. It reads:

Schedule for – Chicago, Petrillo Band Shell
Tuesday June 28th
1:30 pm Donna departs hotel via limo for Venue
1:30 pm Band sound check on stage
3:20 pm Donna on stage for sound check
3:30 pm Doors – Venue open
5:30 pm SHOW TIME – Donna on stage
7:00 pm Strike / Pack up
7:30 pm Donna and Band return to hotel
10:00 pm Crew return to hotel and shower
12:00 Midnight Band and Crew Busses depart for Toronto

I just did a Google search and DONNA SUMMER PERFORMED at the Petrillo Band Shell on June 28th….. Can it be? Am I staying in the same hotel as Donna Summer?

    Donna,

I read your Blob comments from a few days ago,
and do you know who composed the music for that
movie? (All men are Clavens, by the way…we
    love mindless trivia).

Here are the actual lyrics to The Blob:

Beware of the blob, it creeps
And leaps and glides and slides
    Across the floor
    Right through the door
    And all around the wall
    A splotch, a blotch
    Be careful of the blob

    Music composed by BURT BACHARACH
(I guess he needed the money)

Was there a soggy cake in the room? Perphaps one that had been left out in the rain? Or some striped pants?

You know, you’ll never have that recipe again.

Oh, well. They’re be another hotel room for you, and you’ll stay in it.
