My Subterraneans VHS tape arrived today. After dinner (a Subway hoagie) I hooked up my old VHS player and popped in the tape. The quality was not very good. Regardless, the movie is exactly as I remembered! I LOVED IT! There were scenes I had forgotten yet I could recite the lines as if years had not passed since my last viewing. Roxanne remained my favorite and she still makes me want to rim my eyes in kohl, paint sad self-portraits and do impromptu jazz dances. And if given the option of George Peppard or the other Bohemians, I would have taken Jim Hutton! Oh his little Manfred Mann beard was cute! “The only sanity worth having, lies on the other side of madness!”
