Not in Chicago

I was supposed to be flying overhead right now, on my way to Chicago. Instead I am sitting at home. Yes, the trip was cancelled and I couldn’t be happier. So with all this time on my hands, did I clean my room or do my laundry? Nope. I kicked back and talked on the phone like a 14-year-old girl. I try, I really do! I just can’t seem to motivate myself to hang up my clothes, do laundry or vacuum. It’ll happen. I will get so angry at myself that I will just do it.

My skin has broken out something awful. I’ve been treating it with Clearasil. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be 30 and still rubbing that crap into my skin. Will it ever go away completely? As long as this latest break out is healed by the weekend, that is all I care about now. PLEASE HEAL!

My Dr, gave me the best tip…..
Cetaphil mousturizing cream, for all skin, even face. It is cheap as well. I was spending a fortune on my skin care…
The Cetaphil cream did the trick. I even can wear it under make up.

At night I use Cetaphil cleanser mixed with Baking Soda (for exfoliation purposes). If I have a spot I put a dab of 10% Benzoyl peroxide gel on it. In the morning I use the Cetaphil cleanser (no baking soda) and I follow it with either Cetaphil moisturizer or Oil of Olay Regenerist cream, but only if my face feels dry. About once a week I use Queen Helene Mint Julep clay mask. Before I found the Queen Helene mask I would apply non-flavored Milk of Magnesia to my face as a mask. That worked really well and I might go back to it. Usually my face is clear but there are times when I just break out. Luckily it doesn’t happen often or last too long but it is such a pain in the ass when it happens.

Pssh, I am 33 and pretty much have a light case of acne. I’ve always had it, pretty much tried everything, so far the only two things that REALLY work for me are Retin-A and the light antibiotics. The topical stuff doesn’t do anything for me and smells badly. The next step would be the laser treatment. But we will see, I’m not about to go into knife (so to speak) for a light case of acne. Anyways take it easy and I hope everything clears up.

I have a great suggestion for dealing with acne. Don’t touch your face with your hands, ever. From what I understand, your hands pick up bacteria everywhere and the bacteria will affect your pores. Pimples are infected pores. This approach seems to work for me. I try to only touch my face after I wash my hands or I use the back of my hands only when I need to rub my eyes, scratch my skin, etc. I have found this really works.
