Elvis 70

I didn’t mention a thing about Elvis’s birthday yesteday. Lisa and I marked the occasion by eating ice cream and watching Elvis movies. We also listened to Elvis songs as we drove around all day. On our way out the door to the grocery store, I ran back to my room, grabbed the nearest Elvis CD I could find and headed back out. The CD was of Early Elvis and I said, “Truth is I am more of a 70’s Elvis girl.”
Lisa replied, “Yes, definitely Elvis in the 60’s and 70’s”
“And 50’s too!” I said.
“Donna, let’s admit it, we LOVE Elvis– no matter the year, the weight, the costume or the movie, we love him.”
She is right. And all I can say is THANK YOU to that Elvis Impersonator I saw performing at Knott’s Berry Farm that fateful day back in the mid-80’s. It was you, Pseudo-Elvis, clad in a powder blue jumpsuit, that first introduced me to the King and I shall always be a hunk-a hunk a grateful!

    Donna,

You should check out “Trailer Park” in Chelsea (ie. Manhattan, citysearch it, it’s an R7 and NJTran away…). It’s a rockabilly lounge/bar where you can get Pabst Blue Ribbon in a can and any bar food can be served with tater-tots. But most importantly, they have Elvis impersonation night on Wednesdays. Awesome…
