It seems to me that when one thing goes wrong, everything goes wrong. Just the other day it was the router problem and now my computer dies on me. I doubt it is salvageable. Next week I will take my laptop (or as I like to call him, Hal) home to my father and we will see if it is as Charles posits, a loose connection. The darn thing had been acting strange. So strange, in fact, that I backed up my email and My Documents folder. That is most likely the reason I am not head over heels beside myself in sorrow. My collection of Cher pictures and Monkee mp3s are safe. Of course, just the last few days I received some nice bits of email I wish were in my Outlook backup but they aren’t. Ce’la Vie. Now I have to figure out if I use my old laptop I keep for occasions such as this or if I go out and plunk the money down for a new one. Ugh, more money. It never seems to stop.
Yesterday my dinette set was delivered. It came flat and I had to assemble it. Holy cow what a challenge! The directions were of no help and so I just went by my feminine intuition. That may explain why I accidently hit myself in the face with the table leg. I was so frustrated that I began to cry and then I realized how ridiculous a situation it all was and so I started to laugh through my tears. Lisa was there for the show and she said, “Donna you are taking this far too personally and seriously– plus you are really freaking me out; why don’t you take a break and get control of yourself!” I told her to leave me alone and stop looking at me! Somehow I figured out the issue and I was able to put the table together. It looks pretty good.
