Hahaha! I got an email from a guy in the Adam Ant tribute band: Ants Invasion. When I initially posted the Adam Ant entry, (Februar 09, 2003) I never thought I would get so many responses (2). The director of Ant Muzak, a movie about “Adam and the Ants making an eventful late night shopping trip” to a grocery store, wrote me…. (Ben, I’m sorry I never acknowledged your email… I am a cold, heartless person, ask any of my (3) readers). And now, an email from a member of the Adam Ant tribute band! I think what really happened is by writing about my love of Adam Ant, I joined the global Adam Ant family!
I can’t help but think back to the early 80’s, when I was a wee girl, watching the Goody Two Shoes video on MTV and hoping one day, a tiny man in face paint and a pseudo-pirate outfit would be the catalyst that would propel me to doff my glasses and undo my bun….and become a super, hot, vixen-babe! I reenacted that scene many times with my Barbie dolls. Ken was too tall to be Adam so I would use either my Mork or Fonzi doll. Oh, the good ole days!
P.S. I’ve never doffed the bun and glasses.
