Thanksgiving was very nice. Dad fried a turkey. Actually, he fried 3 turkies- but only one was ours. I helped my mom in the kitchen. Yes, it’s true, I have started to cook. Don’t believe me? Well, my mom will vouch that I made incredible stuffing and a wonderful sweet potato caserole. I have been on quite a cooking kick ever since I watched “Nigella Bites” on the E! channel. If you haven’t seen this fabulous cooking show- try to catch it! It is probably one of the best cooking shows I have ever seen!!! (I actually like it better than the Two Fat Ladies!) Since I am gushing, let me also add that I think Nigella is just the most and I want to be just like her!!!! Getting back to Thanksgiving, I also spent a good chunk of the day watching An Affair to Remember. It is such a great film and despite the fact that Hollywood keeps remaking it, they simply just don’t make films like that anymore. Cary Grant, in my opinion, was one of the best leading men of all time. I never particularly cared for Deborah Kerr, but it was certainly nice to see Cary paired with a mature, sophisticated lady rather than the usual ingenue. I must admit that I was so upset that Deborah couldn’t send word to Cary that she was in an accident. I hate that she just stood him up, regardless of the circumstances. In my mind there is just nothing worse than letting a person wait and wait.
