V is for VISITORS

Anyone watch V? I really wanted to but I decided to work out instead. I will catch it eventually.

I heard it’s a “barbed commentary on Obamamania.” Did you see it? Do you agree?

Please tell me Eric Singer at least made a cameo!!!!!!

Someone in Hollywood actually has the audacity to
ridicule The One We’ve Waited For. Blasphemy!

Actually, I like V for Vendetta, which demonstrates how to take on and defeat a totalitarian regime.

I gotta try to watch V for Vendetta again. I attempted it once and found it totally silly. Some guy with a mask leaping around spouting pose in a fake English accent. I think I fell asleep at minute 20. Perhaps I was too hard on it. I will try again.

I had the same experience watching The English Patient years ago. I actually paid good money at a movie theater, walked in, took a seat, and was snoozing within 20 minutes. But it was an “award-winning”, “important” movie which obligated me to waste my time. V for Vendetta, written as a comic book in the 80s, was intended as a criticism of Soviet-Style totalitarianism, but of course Hollywood got hold of it and muddled the message. I hear that Angelina Jolie’s going to star in Atlas Shrugged — just imagine how muddled THAT movie’s going to be after screenwriters shred it.

Yeah, The English Patient was LLLLOOOONNNNGGGGG. I watched it in the theater but wasn’t overly put off. I kinda like slow movies. I do remember being slightly upset seeing Kristin Scott Thomas’s boobies- I had always liked her and never wanted to see her so exposed.

I look forward to seeing Atlas Shrugged. They can’t do any worse than the filmed version of Fountainhead. Gary Cooper was too old but Patricia Neal was awesome. Oddly, when I read the Fountainhead, I kinda pictured Angelina as Dominique. I am still reading Altas Shrugged (I am aiming for the record of longest time it has taken to get through a book… I am somewhere at year 10) and honestly I don’t have much of an image of Dagny.
