Rosie in the Kitchen

I just submitted probably around 5 recipes to Rosemont College’s upcoming Rosie in the Kitchen cookbook. I am trying my darnedest to forgive Rosemont and I am trying to support them but dammit, I have problems with the name of the cookbook. 1. It sounds like that cookbook Oprah did back a bunch of years ago when she lost weight the 32nd time. 2. Why not ROSEMONSTER in the Kitchen? I really don’t know why they refuse to embrace that nickname. Probably the same reason they forgot why they were a woman’s college and how they refuse to embrace their history, tradition and founder’s ideas and philosophy.

Somewhere along the way, they lost it. Makes me sad.

If I have time I’ll sketch a picture or two of the Rosemonster for them. I just need to remember what she looks like. Do you have any photos? I know it’s a green dinosaur/lizard-looking creature with big nostrils and a pink belly.

There may be some pictures of the Rosemonster in the old yearbooks— I will have to go through and see if I can spot her. I remember her being a green dragon-like monster. I wish I could have submitted a picture of a scary dragon wearing an apron tearing up a kitchen for the cover artwork. That would have been awesome!

She never did have much of a sense of humor… Those Haikus were fantastic and all we got was SNUBBED

    Here’s some I remember– I don’t know how exact I am with the words…

    The clowns are coming
    Coming to take us away
    In their little car

    I wish to be frank,
    Peter or henry will do
    Penis Envy YEAH!

There were others– I remember one about mayonaise— what were the other ones?

    LOVE the Dilbert!

Sadly, I don’t see many female candidates for our programmer positions 🙁
Sounds like I better keep up with the weights just in case 🙂

I was struck by another topic in your post – history and tradition. Where has it gone?
Just this weekend it hit me that NY will soon be with a Yankee Stadium AND Coney Island! What has this (NY) world come to?!?!

meant to say WITHOUT a Yankee Stadium and Coney Island (guess it’s still wishful thinking :-/)
