What do you think of this email sign off?
Smiles,
Donna
I got a business email from a guy using that same close and I gotta say, I was alternately shocked and buoyed by it. It’s just such an odd way of closing an email (especially for a man) and kinda teenagerish (do you think he dots his “i”s with hearts?) yet it really made me smile and I liked it. I have actually been thinking of adopting it! Here’s why: if it causes someone to stop and ponder (like I did), isn’t that a good thing? That means I stayed in someone’s thoughts a little extra bit of time and for a salesperson, that’s a good thing. My only problem is that it’s just so dorky. Do I want to be associated with such a dorky sign-off?
What do you think?

Make it a smiley face, and add
“Have A Good Day”.
Originality counts!
I sign most of my e-mails like this:
Cheers,
Harry
It has a somewhat international flair and is “business-approved”…
No, please….anything is better than ‘Smiles’. It sounds cheesy.
“Smiles” evokes some bad Navy stories… I say don’t use it.
But I understand the sentiment. There’s a cashier at my Wawa who says “Have a blessed day” as you leave. I like it, and I always look forward to seeing her when I get a coffee. An offering of a blessing is much more personal and, well, special than a “thank you” or “goodbye”. I suspect she doesn’t say “God bless you” because she’d be fired, but I know what she means…
Kind of like the gesundheit/god bless you thing…
OKAY – SO DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS?
I want something different and kind and friendly and nice.
At work I use “regards” or “cheers” depending on the person. But normally sign it…
