The Office

Rob visited last night. He came after work. The last time I saw him was Sunday evening. I am pretty sure this is the longest amount of time we’ve gone without seeing each other since Blobfest– or was it when we met at South of the Border? Two and a half days. We didn’t do much other than listen to Tina Turner on Rhapsody and watch my favorite parts of Viva Las Vegas. Luckily, I was tired and Rob was spared the sight of me doing my Ann Margret thigh-slapping impression.

This week is going by fast but not fast enough! Yesterday I heard my office should be ready by Labor Day. That means I will say good bye to my home office and hello to an office in Philadelphia! I can hardly wait. I feel this is a good thing for me. A very good thing! Personally and professionally. Regardless of the tax increase and commuting costs.

Will you please recount that “When Harry Met Sally” moment when
Donna met Rob? I was seated late during “Donna: The Movie”.

(If you become a celebrity couple, will you be known in the tabloids as Donnarob or as Robadonna?)

Because you asked in such a clever way, here it is!

Rob was my last Match.com date. Match.com sent me an email with Rob’s picture and it said we had a 74% compatibility rating. That was back in June. Rob didn’t write to me until July. In his first email he mentioned Emma Peel and Elvis! We talked on the phone a couple times and he sounded just like Barry White! Apparently he was suffering from a sore throat during that time. We agreed to meet at South of the Border in Neshaminy. When I approached the restaurant I saw a guy sitting on a bench, completely tattooed and pierced! I almost turned around! “Rob never mentioned body modification!” I thought. Just then my phone rang, it was Rob telling me he was running late because of a road detour! Wrong guy! When he finally arrived, the first words out of his mouth were, “Gosh you’re tall, I like that!” I thought he looked like Colin Firth. We were seated and I ordered a margarita and he ordered a diet coke and a chimichanga, I think. We talked about Rocky & Bullwinkle, Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, Rowdy Roddy Piper, the Avengers, Elvis, and other fabulous topics! I told him about Blobfest and he said he would like to attend. I asked if he would like to attend with me and he said, SURE! It was getting late and I told him it was time for me to go home. He walked me to my car and we hugged. On my way home, I thought, “He was such a nice guy, I wonder if I will hear from him again?”
