Happy Belated Birthday, Mommy

Thursday was my mom’s birthday. I was in NYC so I was unable to celebrate it with her. This afternoon, Lisa and I took mom and dad to a new restaurant called Smokey Bones to celebrate her birthday a few days late. Their specialty is ribs. The waitress put a brown paper bag in the middle of the table and said, “This is the bone bag where you can throw your bones.” My mom replied, “Wow! I feel like I’m in an episode of CSI!” After the meal, we headed back to the donnavilla for ice cream cake and coffee. Dad and I drove back in his new Dodge Charger. I asked if I could get in through the passenger side window rather using the door. As usual, he ignored me. Lisa and I bought an ice cream cake from Sweet Hearts in Morrisville, earlier in the day. It was so good. We’ve been getting their ice cream cakes for years and they are always consistently great. They are not at all like the typical Baskin-Robbins or Carvel ice cream cakes. The Sweet Heart cakes have candy bars and fudge blended in with the ice cream; they are delish! Mom and dad left completely full. Bo was also full. I kept catching my mom feeding him globs of vanilla ice cream. It was a great birthday celebration.
