‘Puters!

When it comes to computers, something is always breaking. Ever since I upgraded Norton Anti-Virus, Outlook started locking up on me. Yesterday I clicked on the, “Send Error Message to Microsoft” dialog box and it returned with the message, “Click here for update to correct error.” Like a fool I chose to update Outlook. I thought I was running a patch. No no, that would have been too easy. What actually occured is somehow, this update updated Outlook to the next VERSION! That would be pretty cool if I had purchased Office 2003, alas, I have no current Product Key. Suddenly, the email program that I have been using for absolute years is telling me I have to purchase a product key for $150 or else, I can’t send mail. I considered spending the money but then I realized, there are other email programs out there— I don’t have to use Microsoft. Last night I downloaded Eudora. I used Eudora many many many moons ago on my old 286 laptop with the monochrome screen loaded with Windows for Workgroups 3.11. I thought Eudora might be the program for me but it didn’t display my emails well. This morning I downloaded Thunderbird. It is still importing my settings. I hope Thunderbird works for me. FINGERS CROSSED.

Firefox kicks ass, so I imagine Thunderbird will as well. Keep me updated, because I’ve been thinking about switching myself.
