The Barefoot Contessa

I exercised, washed up, got into my pajamas, grabbed a tall glass of water, climbed into bed and spent 2 1/2 hours watching the Barefoot Contessa. Reclining in bed with the flickering TV in my eyes, I had a strange feeling that this is how I will spend many nights. It was an interesting movie. Not one of my favorites but I enjoyed it. I got a kick that this is the second movie I’ve seen with Ava Gardner where the man she loves is rendered impotent by a war wound. (Can anyone name the other movie?)

Today I will place The Barefoot Contessa in the Netflix envelope and send it back. Gosh, I love this service!

Erin’s new Web site, Dust Designs is doing very well! Google indexed her site almost immediately. Her paintbrush is poised and ready if anyone wants to commission some art!

Was the movie in question “The Sun Also Rises”?

I liked Bogie’s Character in The Barefoot Contessa.

Now the question is, how large is your Netflix Queue?
(Mine hovers around 70-80, it was as high as 120)

What makes classics so great, other than of course they are classic? I love to sit down and watch them.

    Jay,
You are correct! Working out here in the LA/Orange County area, I have managed to get a few contract engineering jobs with some of the Studios. I must say that most of the stuff coming out of the studios is not very good, or even at least mildly interesting. My feeling is that most of the movies are out there to make money, the story or script as well as excution of that script is purely a seondary thought. Its the idea, the sound bite or trailer that ensnare you into watching it.
Anyways my two cents. That is why i tend to enjoy the classic movies!
