The weather was warm and the day close to perfect. Mom, Lisa, and I went garage sale-ing. I bought a few inconsequential things. Then we visited Barbara and George. Little Mieux hid under the sofa the entire time we were there. Once home, Mom made mushroom and onion omelets. George gave us a Friends and Family 10% off Home Depot coupon so after brunch, Lisa and I went to Home Depot. We bought a very nice bistro table for outside and a minature chiminea. The table was so easy to put together— no screws or tools required! As we were putting the table together, French accordion music started playing. It sounded like it was coming from our neighbor, Walt’s garage. At first I thought it was a record but then I realized that it was definitely someone playing it live. Lisa grabbed a bottle of wine and two wine glasses. We spent the rest of the afternoon sitting at our new bistro table, sipping wine and listening to our neighbor play the accordion. It was truly lovely.
And no, as much as I wanted to, I did not scream across the fence and ask Walt to play “Who Stole the Keeshka?“

Sounded like a lovely day in the neighborhood. Although I could scare up the table, wine glasses and a bottle of Beaujolais Villages, the only accompaniment would be my neighbor’s saw and hammer. Perhaps, if he kept time….
