My Personal Credit Crisis
By EDMUND L. ANDREWS

How love, subprime lenders and willful self-delusion led one man, an economics reporter, to the brink of foreclosure.
Having read this article, all I can say is I DO NOT understand this mentality. You do not borrow half a million bucks if you can’t pay it back. You also do not charge almost $350 for groceries, $700 in clothes from J. Crew, and $179 at GapKids if you are also staying up at night wondering how you are going to pay your bills. This man deserves NOT to be bailed out. He made his bed… he needs to sleep in it. At the end of the article you finally figure out how this man (AN ECONOMICS REPORTER!?!!?) can admit to being such a total sucker… he has a book coming out.
2 things that are awesome
1. Kemps Fat Free Frozen Yogurt Key Lime Pie

I bought it Saturday morning and I can’t stop myself from devouring it. I doubt it will be around come Monday.
2. Star Trek (2009). I caught it at an iMax theater yesterday and oh my gosh it was fantabulous! LOVED IT! LOVED IT! Did anyone else notice who played Spock’s daddy? BEN CROSS!!!!! He played Barnabas Collins in the early 90’s remake of Dark Shadows.

This is the exact picture I had pinned to the inside of my locker when I was a junior in High School! What is it about men with yellow/green glowing eyes!?!?
Ben Cross wasn’t the only actor I recognized. The guy who played Bones…. I knew him! But from where?!? I asked Lisa and she named some obscure movies he had been in (Lord of the Rings, Chronicles of Riddick…) but I had never heard of any of them. Then I started wondering if I could have possibly met this guy on eHarmony or Match… Don’t laugh! He really looked familiar to me and just recently a pro-Sarah Palin documentary came out and the producer/director/interviewer made the rounds on all the different news channels… the guy looked very familiar to me and as it turns out… I corresponded with him on Match.com years ago! So it’s possible. Odd, but possible. At any rate, I looked up Bones on IMDB and it turns out he played Caesar on XENA! THAT’S HOW I KNOW HIM! Either he is an exceptional actor and totally changed his look or I am losing my edge— I immediately spotted him in Bourne Supremacy back in 2004.
Friday? Already?
Wow.
Nourishing the Inner Aspect, Now Let’s DANCE!
Yes, it’s true. I subscribe to Gwyneth Paltrow’s weekly newsletter, GOOP: nourish the inner aspect. I get a kick out of it. Sue me. At any rate, the latest edition has Gwyneth collecting a playlist of 10 songs from 6 of her super cool music expert friends and offering the list to us so we can have a Spring Dance Party!
I decided to go one step further and create a Rhapsody Playlist from it!
So take a listen and in Gwyneth’s words: Get your mother lovin’ dance shoes on…

Smelly house
I apparently have no clue regarding lentils. I bought some the other day and decided to cook them up for lunch. Either I did something wrong or they are supposed to look like mashed orange sweet potatoes and taste gross. I added some spices thinking it may help but now my house just smells like garlic and curry. What was I thinking?
Work has been pretty all encompassing. There is so much going on and I would so love to unload but I am going to hold back. My anonymity here ain’t what it used to be, you know. Regardless of the stuff that’s going on, and in the immortal words of Gloria Gaynor, I will survive. I keep telling myself that even in Russia’s deep dark ugly days of communism, people still survived and made a living. In fact there were people who did damn well. And I realize that I will be fine.
This too shall pass
And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
All these are the beginning of sorrows.

No Little Cigars
I am stumped. I have no idea how all those spammy links got into my footer. Nothing seems amiss on the server side. All I did to fix it was go into the footer and delete the spam links. But there has to be some other file or script that executes the spam, right? I don’t know. I can’t find it.
On Friday I watched a GREAT movie. It was called The Little Cigars Mob and it originally came out in 1973. The movie is about a troupe of circus midgets who meet up with a tall blond woman and together they go on a violent crime spree. I just loved it. Especially the romance between Cleo, the tall blond, and Slick, the criminal mastermind midget. It’s important to note that the little people in the movie called themselves midgets– I am not choosing that term. In fact, they even talked about the difference between dwarves and midgets in the movie. Dwarves are those affected with dwarfism while midgets are just really tiny yet totally proportional. I think my favorite part of the movie was at the end when Cleo decides she can’t run out on Slick and so she goes back to the hotel with her purse full of their stolen loot and when Slick asks, “Why’s you back?” She responds, “‘Cause I’m your old lady and I love your little ass!” I am only guessing that she said ass because the last word was bleeped out and I am terrible at reading lips.

I love leather jumpsuits.
