and some I wouldn’t mind sitting through…
- Salt -she looks like a badass
- Eat Pray Love – i am sure i’ll regret this one
- Sex and the City 2 – mainly morbid curiosity
- Get Him to the Greek – love that guy!
- MacGruber – if there’s nothing else available
- Coco Chanel and Igor Stravinsky – this looks awesome
- Ondine – do you think it’s based on Friedrich de la Motte Fouqué’s novella?
- The Ghost Writer – this might be a mistake
- Hot Tub Time Machine – sue me, it looks funny
- Chloe – only if there’s nothing else available
- A Single Man (still haven’t seen it!) – i really want to see this movie!
- The Last Station – you had me at Tolstoy
- She’s Out of My League – why not?
- It’s Complicated – why not?
- Georgia O’Keefe – you had me at jeremy irons
- Gainsbourg (When will it ever be available?!?) – i MUST see this!
On Ondine: From what I’ve read, Neil Jordan based this on old Irish myths about selkies, but I suspect those stories and Friedrich de la Motte Fouqué’s novella have a common ancestor.
I saw “Hot Tub Time Machine” (yes, funny, and it was right up my alley with all the 80s references too), and just watched “It’s Complicated” on demand this week. It was more of a chick flick then a “laugh-out-loud comedy” as the description said, but it did have funny moments and I found it enjoyable enough to watch all the way through. “MacGruber” was not terrible.
I also want to see “Salt,” “Get Him To the Greek,” “Ghost Writer” (just for Ewan!), and “A Single Man.” I’m dying to see the new “Robin Hood,” and you couldn’t PAY me to watch either “Sex and the City” or “Eat Pray Love.”
