I’m a Pepper

My lunch consisted of salad and a stuffed pepper. It was delish! Two new movies arrived from Netflix– Bullit and The Wicker Man. The Wicker Man has been on my Netflix queue for months. Just recently I saw a preview for a remake of it starring Nick Cage. I don’t know, it didn’t do anything for me but the original calls my name.

This week went by so quickly. The weather has cooled down which is very nice. I still spend far too much time inside.

Petrie Dish

I don’t remember exactly what Rob and I were talking about but he said something that caused me to exclaim in a very wobbly, almost whiney voice, “Oh, R-AHHHHB!”
He looked at me and said, “Yes, Mary?”
“Mary!?!”
“Mary Tyler Moore, that’s what she said to Dick Van Dyke, R-AHHHB.”
How cool is that? Of course, he should have said, “Yes, Laura?” but still, cool indeed!

WHOA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just got the greatest early birthday present EV-AH! A few months ago, I issued a challenge to find me a copy of The Jeremy Day’s song, Beautiful Love. Michael from Michael Da Vegas Blog was the only one to take on the challenge. You won’t believe how he finally came upon this obscure gem…. HE EMAILED DIRK DARMSTAEDTER, THE LEAD SINGER OF THE JEREMY DAYS! AND DIRK SENT IT TO HIM!!!! That means that this song was not only recorded by Dirk but he also RIPPED IT HIMSELF!!!! That is so unbelievably cool, I am just beside myself.

So I am going to put it out there for everyone to listen to for a very short while. If you like it, you can listen to Dirk’s Podcasts or visit his MySpace page for more Dirk Darmstaedter goodness!

THANK YOU, MICHAEL!!!!!!

(I am trembling like a babe lost in the dark…I have never felt something quite this wonderful)

Beware of the big green dragon that sits on your doorstep. He eats little boys

I’m waiting for my coffee to brew. The day has started. Last night Rob came over and we watched Glen or Glenda? I saw it years ago and it was just as horrible as I remembered. Wonderfully horrible! The other movie that came in from Netflix is Myra Breckinridge. A perfect pairing with Glen or Glenda! The next movie in queue is Bullitt. I do love Steve McQueen movies!

Stuffing

At noon, I dropped my car off at the mechanic to have an oil change. Rob says it’s not good to drive 7,000 miles over the recommended mileage alotted for an oil change. Howard is also going to see why my lcd speedometer/odometer is on the fritz. Hopefully he will bill me. I just paid for work he did last December, last month.

I had a great weekend. I met two of Rob’s 9 siblings. They were very normal which I suppose was a bit of a relief. Too bad he can’t say that for my family. 🙂 On Saturday we attempted to watch the Perseid meteor shower. Sadly the moon was too full and there was just far too much light in the sky.

This evening I did my laundry, went through mail and cleaned my bedroom. Things are looking a bit more organized but I am far from finished.
