While only females have mammary glands, we all start out in a similar way in the womb. The unborn baby follows a female template until about six weeks, when the male sex chromosome kicks in. The males, however, have already developed nipples.

INXSREMU2UPS
Last night Lisa and I watched INXS Rock Star through the static of our little, practically zero reception-TV. One of the commercials was for the upcoming Johnny Cash bioflick. Did anyone catch this? They showed Leaf Phoenix, as Johnny Cash singing an absolutely terrible rendition of I Walk the Line. It couldn’t possibly be Johnny Cash’s voice. It sounded like they found some drunk hobo and had him record the track. Wait– imdb says that Leaf did the singing himself. Goodness, he’s no Sissy Spacek.
And mark my words, Jordis will be the next Michael Hutchence. And let’s hope she’s not into autoerotic asphyxiation.
All together!
I hesitate to post anything in German (whether I come up with it or I find it somewhere on the Net) because I always get inundated with corrections by well meaning Germans.
Oh wow
Lynda Carter is in the Dukes of Hazzard movie! How did I miss that?
Just Preschool
Lisa had a good day at her job. She said a little girl came over to her and tapped her on the arm.
“Yes?”
“I have a Strawberry Shortcake bathing suit!”
“Really?”
“Uh-huh! And I also have one that has butterflies all over it!”
“Wow!”
“Wanna know something else?”
“What?”
“I have a Care Bears bathing suit too!”
Lisa also said that she had the most infuriating conversation with a little girl. She thought the girl’s name was Trisha but the girl kept saying, “No, Just Trisha.” Lisa would repeat, “Trisha” This went on 3 or 4 times. Finally Lisa realized the little girl’s name was Jusstrisha.
Tomorrow I leave for Chicago. I am actually looking forward to going.
HOOORAY!
After a delicious Delorenzo’s pizza, there is nothing better than a dum dum for dessert. Luckily Rick keeps them in a special drawer just for his favorite customers. My favorite flavor is Buttered Popcorn but it was discontinued a few years ago. My next favorite flavor is Butterscotch. I like to close my eyes and imagine I am eating flan when I am sucking on a Butterscotch dum dum. Maybe it’s because I spent so much time with John Beck, but I keep thinking about Buttered Popcorn dum dums! Surfing around I discovered that Spangler didn’t really discontinue the Buttered Popcorn flavor, they just sell it separately now. Hmmmmmmm, how can I rationalize spending $10.85 on 120 Buttered Popcorn dum dums? Price 4.70 + Shipping 6.15 The shipping costs more than the dum dums! I can’t. Or can I?
Warning Will Robinson
I believe FedEx is fleecing America. A couple months ago, my mother told me she found a mysterious FedEx charge on her credit card. My parents haven’t shipped packages via FedEx in quite some time so my mom knew something was wrong. She had my dad call them up to find out about the charge. The charge was in error, the Customer Service Rep said, probably the result of a typo. The charges were reversed and everyone was happy. Well, today, going through my credit card statement, I NOTICED A CHARGE FROM FEDEX!!! I haven’t shipped anything from FedEx in years. I remembered what happened to my parents and I immediately called FedEx. Can you believe they gave me the exact same story! Luckily I caught the ‘mistake’ and was able to get the charge reversed. If you have a FedEx account, pay very close attention to your credit card statements! They may be charging you for things you did not ship!
Village Pipple
Lisa started her new job today. She is teaching Preschool. I keep thinking about her and hoping she is doing well. The first day at a new job is tough. I can only imagine, I’ve been with the same company forever. She’ll be back home in a couple of hours and she’ll tell me all about it.
Mom called me earlier to tell me she made chicken enchiladas and she made extra for Lisa and me. We should stop by the house this evening to pick them up and have a piece of cake she baked. Sometimes I don’t feel grown up at all.
This day seems to be dragging by which is odd since I’ve been keeping very busy and have been mucho productive. I guess those chicken enchiladas are on my mind.
My mom went to a flea market on Sunday and brought me back a paperbag full of old albums. Two of the albums were the same Village People album which I already own in multiple. How normal is it to own 10 copies of the Macho Man album? I own others too, Go West, Live and Sleazy, but my pride and joy is the Renaissance Album where they tried to go New Wave (replete with face paint!).
Judy Holiday
This evening, Lisa and I went to see Born Yesterday starring the late, great Judy (she was a pinko) Holiday! It was wonderful! Afterward there was a film discussion but Lisa and I skipped it. Maybe next month we’ll attend the discussion. I’ll have to take down that one book my old Cinema teacher wrote and memorize some of the professor speak. That’s always fun at a party.
On a retrospective side note: Oh Taffy! Wherefore art thou? I miss you and your Peter Tork-inspired sideways belt buckle!
P.S. I did not go to Muhlenberg. I am a Rosemonster through and through!!!
There’s a great big beautiful tomorrow
I did this because I can! It’s the music to “These are the times, These are the best times!” from the Carousel of Progress! It just gives me chills listening to it. I remember as a little girl, watching the Carousel of Progress and being so completely awed by the animatronic figures, especially the dog!
