Zig Zig

This morning I drove Lisa to the doctor. He diagnosed her with walking pneumonia. He gave her some pills and told her to call him if she wasn’t feeling any better in two days.

Tonight we are going to John Beck’s Birthday/Going Away Party. He is not only turning 30-years-old, he’s also moving to Baltimore to go to art school. This afternoon, Lisa and I went to Best Buy with a print out of John’s Amazon.com Wish List. Best Buy didn’t have many of the items but what they did have was cheaper even without applying shipping and handling. I won’t tell you what Lisa and I purchased until tomorrow just in case John reads this entry before his party.

Having spent the day running errands, I feel completely drained. The heat was intense and moving from air conditioning to outside to air conditioning to outside made it seem even worse. I should take a little nap but I always feel horrible after a nap. Maybe I will make some coffee.

PS If anyone has been reading John’s blog, I wish to set the record straight. I did not force him to play with Tinker Toys nor did I get in a cat fight with one of Los Straitjackets. John has a creepy imagination.
I did force him to eat orange flavored fiber tablets, though.

C’mon, Let’s get FUNKY!

Bethlehem’s Musikfest Web site leaves a lot to the imagination. I know the Plaza Tropical is a “unique open-air venue” that “features a Caribbean shopping village” but I do not know if there are seats or if I am supposed to haul beach chairs. I am not going to worry about it. The beach chairs from Herman’s Hermits are still in the trunk of my car. I don’t fully understand parking or the shuttle schedule. Nope! I refuse to worry. It will all work out fine.

Last night Lisa and I watched Rock Star. We both ogled the performer’s outfits. I told Lisa that I could never be a Rock Star.
“Because you sound like a dying cow when you sing?”
“No, because if I were to dress up, I’d wear a pair of black wool pants, a turtleneck, and blazer.”
Lisa tried to comfort me by telling me that when I wear the Adam Ant T-Shirt Audra bought me, I look very Rock Star. She’s a good sister. A liar, but a good sister.

Dum Dum Lollies

I had such a great evening last night! Lisa, John and I were to see the Pontani Sisters but Lisa was still not feeling up to par so we decided to go on Thursday and stay around the Donna villa instead. Audra came over and we had birthday cake. John came later and HE BROUGHT ME A PRESENT!!!!! BUTTERED POPCORN DUM DUMS!!!! It was a very nice evening.

I am looking forward to seeing the Pontani Sisters and Los Straitjackets tomorrow. I got an email from a fellow who went and he said:

I went to the Los Straitjackets show tonight in Bethlehem (Musikfest) – the Pontani Sisters were dancing on stage with them and they were AWESOME! The band was great too – I’d heard of them but never heard them: surf style with flair, you might say. They wore gimpy “wrestling masks” and dressed in black T-shirts and black pants with metal medallions. The Pontanis on the other hand switched outfits just about every song. It was something between cabaret, vaudeville and Vegas. Their ballet-style dancing to the acoustic surf version of the Celine Dion song from Titanic was fantastic, but they did a whole set of other numbers too: the charleston done to “Swing Swing Swing” also notable. All in all it was one of the best live music shows I’ve seen in the last 2 yrs, and absolutely free!

Yes indeed! I can hardly wait!!!!

Can this be healthy?

I really need to change my food intake. Disregarding Sundays when my Mom plies me with her wonderful food, I eat:

Cottage Cheese
Pickles
Medium Boiled Egg
Orange Creme Flavored Fiber Tablets
Yogurt, sometimes
Triscuits, sometimes
Fruit, sometimes
Chicken, sometimes
Coffee, Tea, Water, Grapefruit Juice, Perrier
Occasional TV Dinner

And that’s about it. The last week I ate Nutella because John Beck gave it to me, but that is an aberration.

HAL: It can only be attributable to human error

I slept throught the night for the second time this week! Usually I wake up a couple times. Either I am cold or hot or thirsty or achey. At least the night terrors have almost all disappeared. After having such a nice night of sleep you’d think I’d feel refreshed, rip roaring and ready to go? Nope. I just want to disappear into sleep again.

Yesterday my computer was acting so funny. I am hoping it might behave better today. Whether it behaves or not I have to take it to that darn service center. I think it’s the cooling fan or the motherboard. What really kicks me is this computer is relatively new, I bought it in November, I think. It was tops. Yet, when multitasking, the darn thing lags. Startup takes forever no matter how many times I clean out the startup folder or the registry. I blame it on Norton Antivirus. They are the ones who put out the viruses because they want to clog up 95% of your computer’s resources with their antivirus-schmirus crap. I am going to get a cup of coffee. That always erases the pains of the day.

Thar she blows!

Something is wrong with my laptop. It spontaneously shuts down. There is no rhyme or reason to it, no warning. Phifft! Black screen. Toshiba told me I need to take it to a dealer and get it fixed. Lurvely.

I really could have gone for some Indian food tonight. My body is craving curry.

Blue Light Special

I went home and had Sunday dinner with my folks. My mom made meatloaf and it was great. She used my recipe! Bobo came with me and he had a ton of fun scampering around and getting into trouble. After dinner, mom and I went to KMart and I bought the stuff I had planned on buying at CVS and more! I got a pack of 15 blank DVDs for 5.99! What a buy!

Now I am tired and ready to go to bed. Oh! This week the Pontani Sisters perform in Bethlehem, PA. Must price tickets!
