again

My flight was cancelled last night because of the thunderstorms. I had it rescheduled for the morning. I much prefer flying at night. I get a good night’s sleep and on the flight, I drink wine, listen to Elvis, Tom Jones, and Dusty Springfield and zoom through the dark sky, above gold and blue twinkling lights. It’s very relaxing.

Lisa’s the Big Star today!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LISA!!!!

Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday dear Lisa
The most wonderful sister a girl could have;
I have no clue what I would do without you

Happy Birthday to you!

Enjoy this last year before your lifeclock turns black.

Graduation et al

Jessica’s graduation party was great fun! I saw a bunch of my cousins and allowed myself to endulge in chips and cheese and veggie dip. Everyone was sad that we didn’t bring little Bobo with us. I’m not sure why we didn’t. Lisa and I left early because I had a prior engagement set up for later. Ultimately I got home after midnight and now I am feeling very foggy. There aren’t any kiwis left so I think I will cut up a mango in my yogurt. Today my only plan is to do laundry. I have 2 loads down, only 10 more to go!

Wash it!

I’m up! I’m around! I just don’t want to be. I woke up at my normal time and surfed around the Internet for awhile but my bed called me back. An hour later I got up again. This time I made myself a cup of green tea and I cut up a kiwi in my bowl of vanilla yogurt. Not a bad breakfast. Now I am considering actually doing laundry. I have so much of it, it is unreal.

Baby Baby

Last night I went shopping with Lisa. This morning she had a job interview and she was hoping to find a new, fresh outfit to wear. As we shopped, I found a ton of things I wanted but because we were limited on time, I didn’t even bother. This evening, after dinner, Lisa, Mom and I went shopping and I was able to try on and buy some of the things I found yesterday. One of the coolest items I purchased is a black and white diagonal striped dress– it is so fab! I feel like Debbie Harry in it! I wish I had a date to wear it on. Our intention was to drop Mom off at home after shopping and then go to Revenge of the Sith. Instead, we stayed with Mom and watched Dr. Phil and drank tea. Bobo was so excited to see us when we finally got home, he pooped a little on the carpet. I have found myself addicted to yet another song: Baby, Baby by The Vibrators. I am thinking a good playlist might include that song and With a Girl Like You by The Troggs, Wig-Wam Bam by Sweet, and Joey Dee and the Starliters singing Sitting in the La-La Waiting for my Ya-Ya. The only problem is Rhapsody doesn’t know that Joey Dee even exists! That puts the kibosh on that song. Plus, a good playlist needs more than 3 songs. Suggestions are welcome.

Tomorrow is my cousin Jessica’s graduation party and I have pretty much decided that I am just going to get her a gift certificate. That way she can buy what she wants and doesn’t have to rely on my taste— I just don’t see her as a black and white diagonal stripe dress-type girl.

P.S. Does anyone know how to determine between two eggs which one is hard-boiled and the other raw?

MY NAME IS ZOOM! HOW DO YOU DO?

With Lisa’s birthday looming so close, I decided to get off my butt and update my Captain Zoom Tribute Page. I added about 6 more memories from people who have emailed me over the past year. If you emailed me a memory and I didn’t include it, most likely I deleted it mistakenly believing it was spam so send it again! I also fixed the word tickleshay; I had originally heard it as pickleshay. The biggest update is the addition of a new page that has an exerpt of the old song and of the new song that American Broadcasting is currently selling. There is a difference but I think it is because we listened to the song (and taped it) at 45 RPMs and it really should have been played at 33 1/3. If only I still had the record!

Gradual Awakening

This week is going by so quickly– it helps not working Monday. Wouldn’t it be lovely if weekends always lasted 3 days? Last night Lisa and I made hamburgers on the grill and corn on the cob. After dinner we went for a long walk. I find that the walking de-stresses me. I also feel I am getting stronger. During the winter I hibernate and although I was going back and forth to Chicago, I wasn’t really exercising much. It feels good to move.

I need to get my cousin Jessica a graduation gift. Back when I graduated from High School, my cousin Sharon gave me the greatest graduation gift. It was a box full of items I would need for college– shower shoes, a plastic basket to hold my shower supplies, plates and dish towels, laundry bag, etc… It was a fantastic gift because a lot of the stuff I wasn’t even aware I needed. I thought about doing something similar for Jessica but I just don’t know her that well and it’s just so much easier to get her a gift certificate to the Gap.
