Not much at all

There is so much I could be doing but I am not. Going through my mail, straightening my closet, cleaning my desk, doing my laundry but instead I sit here staring at the computer screen. Lisa made Chicken Reshmi Kababs from the recipe Web site I posted earlier. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t good either. Mainly, it was bland and tasted like meatloaf but with some Indian spices mixed in. Even though I am full, the meal didn’t satisfy me and I keep scavenging for food. It doesn’t work here since we keep the refridgerator empty. So I just keep opening the kitchen cabinets hoping something might appear.

Tomorrow I leave for Chicago but it is only a day and a half trip. Not bad at all.

Swiss Miss

I dreamt that for some ungodly reason, I was required to take a gym course. The class I chose was “Tanning,” mainly because it sounded so very easy. When I arrived at the classroom there were a ton of girls from my old high school. Each of them had a fishing pole. Apparently this was a new sport that had nothing to do with the sun. The aim was to hook the ceiling and then with the help of a harness, pull yourself up so you were seemingly floating. Then with all the girls also hovering, proceed with a synchronized dance routine.

Around 4 in the morning, little Bobo started crying. Japanese Chins don’t really bark but rather yodel. Bobo is no exception. So at 4 am I am awakened by a high-pitched yodel. I figured it was just an isolated cry and he would go back to sleep. Next thing I hear is him trying to break down the child’s gate that keeps him in the kitchen. I got out of bed and went to the kitchen. “Bobo, please stop crying, please stop! Daddy has to get her beauty rest!”
I then realized that Lisa’s light was on and he probably thought she was up and wanted to go and sleep with her. I ran up to her loft and shut off her lights. Then I went back to the kitchen and turned off the night light. Somehow this worked because he immediately went back to bed and I was able to get another hour’s sleep.

Water Taxi

I had such a nice time in Baltimore today. We parked at Fell’s Point and had lunch at John Stevens. A water taxi took us to the Inner Harbor where we walked around. We later went to Edgar Allen Poe’s grave. The weather was very warm– so pleasant. At the Barnes and Noble near the Inner Harbor, they have gellato. I ordered Straciatella and Chocolate Hazelnut. It was delish! The water taxi took us back to Fell’s Point. Luckily I did not get a ticket despite having over stayed 45 minutes past the meter. We got home around 7:00. It was a lovely day.

Out

Last night, Lisa, Audra and I went to King of Prussia. We had planned on going to Magiano’s but the place was crowded. Instead we walked to the mall and went to Rock Bottom Brewery. It was very nice. Audra had a salad. Lisa and I shared the Asiago Cheese dip and for dessert we all shared the carrot cake. Sitting in the bar, I looked around and noticed there wasn’t a single man anywhere. I also noticed that there were quite a number of couples. As I looked at the couples, I noticed one thing that all the women had in common. They were all very skinny and very petite. Not a single one could have been over 5’5. When I mentioned it to Lisa and Audra they said, “Did you finally notice that Donna?”
“But if you could just snap your fingers and be petite, would you?
“Not permanently,” Audra said.
“Nope” replied Lisa. “How about you?”
No way, Jose! I like being an Amazon. I couldn’t imagine having to look up all the time and never meeting people eye to eye. Even now I feel terribly weak opening heavy doors and such; I couldn’t imagine how I would do it if I were small.

Today Lisa, Lanke, and I are going to Baltimore. Lanke has never been there before and Lisa and I have been wanting to go back for some time. I hope this will be a nice trip. Lisa and I always have a great time. I want Lanke to ride the water taxi and experience Old Bay seasoning. I hope she likes it!

Snip Snip!

Yesterday something happened to my clipboard and suddenly I could no longer cut and paste. I had a ton of stuff to do and I didn’t want to waste time by rebooting. So I trudged ahead and let me tell you, I was completely lost without it! I had no idea how much I cut and paste until I lost the ability. It made me realize that whoever came up with the idea should be awarded a great prize!

Last night I had a dream I found out what happened to Heiko. He was attacked in his home by a robber and suffered a significant head trauma. The blow to the head caused him to grow an ugly 70’s ‘stach and speak in a stutter. He also traded his little flat for a gigantic converse sneaker. Although I felt very sorry for him, I also felt lucky and thought, “Thank goodness he didn’t want to marry me!”

Ms Clean

I’ve been really working hard at keeping my room clean. Last weekend I cleaned it and it actually looked neat. This week, I made a point of not throwing any clothes on the sofa or leaving stuff on the ground and for the first time, the room continues to look good.

Last night my parents, Lisa, and I went to Delorenzo’s in Trenton. It has been so long since I last had one of their pies. Let me tell you, it didn’t disappoint; it was sooooooooooo good. This morning I woke up and could smell the garlic emanating from my pores. I am looking forward to lunch so I can have the leftover slice.

Hey John! I missed seeing you!

Wrooof!

It was such a beautiful day today! It was so difficult to work, all I wanted to do was run around and sing: SPRING IS HERE!!! Lisa made a lovely dinner. Chicken on the grill (marinated in a curry-honey sauce), peas, salad with ginger dressing, and a toasted pita. After dinner we took little Bobo for a walk. Along the way we met a very nice Scottish man walking his dog. He asked us the name of our little “guinea pig.”
“His name is Beauregard Duke Bebop W. Le Moko, but you can call him Bobo for short” Lisa replied.
“Ahhhhhh, well my dog’s name is Mackenzie Get Back Here You Little Bastard, but you can call him Mackenzie for short.”

Lisa is upstairs in her loft watching The Secondhand Lions. I am in my office working on the Q1 2006 forecast. My eyes are close to crossing but I know if I don’t finish it tonight, I will have to finish it tomorrow along with a hundred other items.

I never close my eyes any more

I am listening to Elvis and eating cottage cheese with pineapples. It’s late and I am almost ready to sleep. Normally I don’t eat before I go to sleep but I have a slight buzz. I went to Issac Newton’s and had two beers. Stella Artois and Hoegaarden. The beers hit me hard mainly because I didn’t eat any dinner. I’ve been feeling rather ill since last night. I figure it is either the steak I ate or finally having viewed The Passion of the Christ. As it is, after the beers I actually started feeling better. At the bar I saw my favorite barflies, Ken, John and Tom. Hiya Guys! It is so odd to be home. I feel almost displaced. Elvis makes me feel better, though. He always does.

What is it about Ken, John and Tom that reminds me of the Lone Gunmen?

Holy Moly!

392 visitors yesterday! WOW! My highest day ever! The reason for the traffic is that Dawn Eden, Charles from Dustbury, and Dan & Angi linked to my entry with the eHarmony questions and my silly responses. I am glad people thought it was funny since most of my eHarmony matches think I’m cheeky and close me.

This is the first week in a very very very long time that I didn’t fly out to Chicago. I am practically beside myself in joy! I can now spend my evenings at home, doing things I enjoy and not locked in a hotel room in a strange city watching useless TV or working throughout the night. It feels good!
