I want to be on top of my life. I want the kitchen sink to be empty of dishes. I want my invoices sent after finishing jobs. I want my clothes hung in the closet. I want to live without the crap. When mail comes in, I want it sorted and the garbage tossed. I want the food in my freezer labeled and usable.
It seems so easy and yet I struggle. I keep telling myself, “A place for everything and everything in its place.” Yet the place for everything seems to be in a heap in the middle of the floor. And I can always find a reason NOT to do it now.
How can I not find 10 minutes to do the dishes? Why is my will so against hanging up clothes and sorting socks?
Things must change!
You need a husband to order around, or a live in concierge. Wait a minute…they are the same thing!
We grew up in different families because I gotta say, from my experience, I need a WIFE!
It’s not too late to switch teams. With the right woman, you may get a ring on your finger quicker than poopie bear.
The Container Store was started in Dallas and has become well-known for helping people organize their
clutter.

Plus, the company is known for treating its employees well (no, I don’t work for them, but their reputation is
flawless). I think you have Container Stores in your area.
I don’t know why I let little things like that pile up either. Sometimes I find myself just observing it with fascination, like, “Wow, how dirty can this floor get before I clean it?” One of Julia’s little friends came over last week (whose mom I know keeps her house very tidy), and she says to me, “Are you going to vacuum?” Okay, I have a 2 year old criticizing me now!?
Food on the table, friends to visit, music to make one smile, a kind heart….these are important and stay with you. Cleaning is a thankless job, it is never finished. Remember the saying, A clean house is the sign of a life misspent.
Audgie– Exactly! In fact, I did the same thing with my kitchen floor too! I kept looking at it thinking, “gosh, it’s filthy, I really should scrub it…. tomorrow.”
Mom– So it’s you! Now I know where the long stream of excuses comes from 😉
